Guest Polluti0n Posted October 5, 2005 Report Posted October 5, 2005 (edited) Has anyone tryed a headphone amp with there phone to create bass? Ive been lookin at a few Cmoy amps and Xin supermicro amps. I really wanna test one out to see what the bass sounds like, but I don't wanna spend the money unless I know its gonna work. Please write back if you have any insight about this. Edited October 5, 2005 by Polluti0n
Guest Stitchy Posted October 7, 2005 Report Posted October 7, 2005 (edited) yep, I did :o the bass is low when you direct your headphones on the output from your phone(mpx200) so i apply an amplifier on it, and its giving more bass. check my home made portable amplifier with an cheap TDA2822 stereo amp chip(these works at 2batteries). and with an nice VU meter :( Pic1 Pic2 Pic3 Pic4 Pic5 Edited October 7, 2005 by Stitchy
Guest Polluti0n Posted October 8, 2005 Report Posted October 8, 2005 (edited) Stitchy thanks for your reply. I was wondering how much more bass do you get with the amp, and how you would rate the sound quality overall through the amp. Also, do you think a cmoy would put out good sound with the phone? Guest Stitchy Posted October 9, 2005 Report Posted October 9, 2005 Stitchy thanks for your reply. I was wondering how much more bass do you get with the amp, and how you would rate the sound quality overall through the amp. Also, do you think a cmoy would put out good sound with the phone? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> it sound just like having an normal mp3 player without equlizer. but i know now what the problem is. when I connect my mobile to an normal house amplifier the sound is just fine and good. when I connect it to my headphones (directly to mpx200) its poor yeah. because the impedance is very low, ( standart 32ohm are the headphones) and the impedance from my amplifier is about 2k~10k (2000ohm~10000ohm). the amp that is built in the phone is very low. and the fix. its posable to connect 2 150 ohm resistors serial on the headphones. the volume is lower than normal, but the bass is alittle higher than before. sorry for my bad english. Guest RocketMBA Posted October 9, 2005 Report Posted October 9, 2005 I tried a Boostaroo on mine and it sounds great.
Guest Polluti0n Posted October 10, 2005 Report Posted October 10, 2005 (edited) Hey RocketMBA, how is the sound through the Boostaroo? Is the bass increased? Im only asking because from what I have read about Boostaroos says that they just increase the volume, and split the headphone jack into 4 jacks. Do you think the boostaroo acctually boosts the bass or treble? Edited October 10, 2005 by Polluti0n
Guest Polluti0n Posted October 12, 2005 Report Posted October 12, 2005 (edited) Has anybody tryed THIS BASS MOD for mpx200 from "ak73 pro a" or know anything about it? It looks pretty easy to do (soder 4 connections). I just was wondering if anybody knows if the phone will work after the mod, if the mod does what it says, and if the mod drains your battery super fast. If anybody has any information about this hack PLEASE post. BEFORE AFTER Thanks for your time, Polluti0n Edited October 15, 2005 by Polluti0n
Guest Stitchy Posted October 26, 2005 Report Posted October 26, 2005 It just increase the capitor to an higher uF, to get an better sound. like bass/treble.

Going without the Boostaroo will be impossible once you've got one ;) It seems to be the lack of suitable across-the-board amplification that's holding back the MPx200 sound quality.
Guest donovansmith Posted December 3, 2005 Report Posted December 3, 2005 I used a Xin Supermicro with my MPx200 for a while with great results. The headphone out on the MPx200 is pretty decent when amped, if a bit limited in the treble, and a headphone amp definitely is needed to make the MPx200 usable for music playback.
