Guest rockthesmurf Posted October 5, 2005 Report Posted October 5, 2005 Hi, I used this forum last time I need to get my firmware/unlocking sorted on my SPV, however this time I am unable to find a post to answer my query, so I am instead creating my own topic. I have an orange SPV (the original one I believe) with quite old firmware on (1.37.6) it is unlocked for running applications (officially via Orange) and also unlocked so I can use my t-mobile simcard in it. I decided I'd try the latest firmware update (and made sure I'd still be able to use it unlocked after), the latest version is (1.61). During the firmware update process it gives me the above warning (WARNING 111: POWER ADAPTER NOT PLUGGED IN). Unforunately I do not have a cable that is both a power cable and a data cable in one, so I don't have a way of plugging the phone in to the AC and in to my PC at the same time. I was hoping there might be a way of getting around this, either with a custom firmware updater or an overwrite for the program to stop it checking for power being plugged in. I get the impression I might be stuck and there isn't a solution, but if there is I'd be very grateful to learn what it is. Thank you for your time to read and possibly reply, Steve
Guest usdiver Posted October 7, 2005 Report Posted October 7, 2005 Hi, I may be wrong but i believe your only solution is getting a cradle if you don't already have one...they come with the phone and it is what the phone sits in. You have one cable going to the usb port on the pc, and one cable (orange factory charger cable for spv) that goes from the cradle to mains outlet for power.

I got the phone second hand with out any cables, so I just brought myself a charger and data cable (seperate cables). They both work fine however aren't suitable for fimrware upgrading which is a shame. Thanks anyway, Steven Craft
