MS mobile or Symbian?

Hi, i currently have a C500 on Orange (sim unlocked), but am going to swap to vodafone in the next couple of months. Obviously with my now unlocked C500 (thanks to instructions on this site!!) i could just keep using that, but as i will be joining Vodafone as a new customer i thought i might as well consider a new phone.

I have been happy with the MS mobile platform, but reliability of the C500 has been bad...i have had 4 phones in 11 months. Basically i am after a reasonably sized device (max size would be an M500, ideally smaller), and i need it to sychronise with Outlook, and also to have a clearly visible / easy to use task list which will also allow me to set reminders. Apart from that, i mainly use smartphone notes and thats all. No email or anything, just normal calls and texts.

I have tried to find info about then Nokia / Sony ericcson phones with the Symbian OS but it is hard to tell if the task lists / appointments etc will meet the criteria above. I am guessing that since these run Symbian software then they will not synchronise with the PC as well as the MS mobile phones...or am i wrong?

Can anyone reccomend some phones to look at! I'm considering M500 (or badge variant depending on where i get it from....i think its VPA compact on vodafone) but not sold on its battery life...

Otherwise the Sony Ericcson 910i??

If anyone has any other options please help. Its not essential i join vodafone...O2 will be ok, but i cant goto Tmobile as the coverage isnt good enough yet.

Or if anyone has any links to further info please post them!

Thanks in advance

Martin

Tricky one to answer

I used to love my P900, but sold it when the P910 was about to launch (otherwise it would have had almost no value).

I can't remember whether the UIQ and S60 phones can have Notes/Tasks etc on their Homescreens, but I suspect not - certainly not out of the box

The M500 is nice, but with hindsight I would have gone for one of the models with 128Mb RAM. Battery life is fine for me - it spends a lot of the time attached to my PC charging, so I very rarely get down to even 50% battery level. Without that charging I seem to remember it lasting at least 2 full days with my "average" use.
