TomTom 5 Mobile & C500 Problems

Hi, New to the forum, so hope I have posted in the correct place. Right... I have recently purchased a C500 and 512mb mini SD + Tomtom 5 mobile when I install it to the memory card (512mb) and tomtom starts it halts (freezes) the phone as the disclamer "Dont driver when using tomtom etc...... Your are supposed to Agree! but the phone freezes.

I have tried serveral time to install it but not no luck.

I have installed via a card reader are requested in instructions.

Can anyone help!! :o

Yoiu need to copy all the files from the SD card to the root of the miniSD

do not copy them to a new folder.

Try this:-

Using Active Sync on your PC go to 'Storage/My Documents' on the phone and create a new directory called 'TomTom' (there may be one already) then copy a random small file into that directory (any small file like a picture will do)

Try and run again!

There is sometimes a weird small problem on the C500 with this folder :o

James you an absolute STAR :( I have spent ages messing around and have been so disappointed that this was not working. Copying a picture to the TomTom directory works !!!!!! How strange. What a site this is !!!! 10/10

hi jason could i find out where you got the tom tom mobile 5 from ? how much it cost for everything apart from spv c500

is it easy to use :D

have a look on www.tomtom.com they have resellers listed on there... its will be just under £200 for the lot
