Extracting .HME?

Is it possible to extract a .hme homescreen? I have found some homescreens I like, but they always seem to lack something small, so i'd like to adjust them to my own needs. But I don't know if and how these hme's can be adjusted (ruttensoft doesn't seem to have an import function, although you can import the color scheme)

just a .hme file (i can't find the path where it stores the files after installing the theme on the phone either)

Rename them to zip files and extract them

Then you need to view the one file in there that has a regular extn (I can't remember what it is right now) and it will tell you the names of the other files. You can then rename each file.

Sorry my bad, thinking of a differetn way of doing it.

Baisically if rename the file *****.home.xml then it shol give you the options to customise it. if not send me the file n ill give it a shot!!!

there's a setup.xml (the regular extn i presume) and 3 other files named ***.001, 2 and 3

But renaming it to .zip was actually all I needed. The .xml tells me the real names of the files (home.xml and to jpegs)

there is a program fir this its called SmartArchiver here is a link for the download you have to install it in french but it has an option for english once you have installed it and run it

it also has an option to Extract the files as their regular extension so you dont have to search through all that crap and what not i have found this program very usefull
