Guest unclelimey Posted October 6, 2005 Report Posted October 6, 2005 Hi , does anyone know how to display cd cover art on media player 10 on my spv c550, i snyc'd to my desktop windows media 10 and think i checked all the right boxes but it does not show the album cover on my phone,, please help if you can thanks in advance
Guest Pondrew Posted October 7, 2005 Report Posted October 7, 2005 Silly question, but did the files in question display the album art in Windows Media Player 10 on your desktop? Because if not then it won't be able to sync it to your 'phone.
Guest unclelimey Posted October 7, 2005 Report Posted October 7, 2005 (edited) yeah, i have the artwork displayed on screen on my pc when playing the tracks in media player 10.. is there any options on my phone which i should be 'setting'?? i am using active sync 3.7.1, should i be using a newer version? Edited October 7, 2005 by unclelimey
Guest Pondrew Posted October 7, 2005 Report Posted October 7, 2005 I would update to 3.8 and see if it resolves it. Other then that I'll have a look see if there's any other setting but didn't think so.
Guest Pondrew Posted October 7, 2005 Report Posted October 7, 2005 Hey, just found this suggestion but u'd have to find the album art files yourself...If you do as I do, and copy albums to the SD card in a self contained directory, save the album art to a file called folder.jpg and that will be displayed in WMP. Just another option! <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Guest unclelimey Posted October 7, 2005 Report Posted October 7, 2005 ok, i failed to mention earlier that i seem to be able to connect my phone to pc media player 10, but when i try to sync a playlist is stops halfway through the first track and says aborted files... i managed to sync ok by putting the mini sd card into a card reader.. maybe i need to sync the tracks via the phone to get the artwork on it?? any ideas what im doing wrong?
Guest unclelimey Posted October 7, 2005 Report Posted October 7, 2005 (edited) ahhh , just tried what you said, by putting the album in a file and adding the artwork under the name folder.jpg and it worked a treat thanks very much for you help... now..... if only i could sync the tracks...... Guest Pondrew Posted October 7, 2005 Report Posted October 7, 2005 now..... if only i could sync the tracks...... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> A known problem I'm afraid. Refer to the C550 bug list in the Hurricane hardware specific section.

Guest harrysaab Posted October 30, 2005 Report Posted October 30, 2005 oh sorry i tried that aswell but still no luck :-( *.jpg means pic.jpg right in the same folder as mp3s? I think you're meant to rename the album art pic to *.jpg rather then the folder ;) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Guest bluesxman Posted October 31, 2005 Report Posted October 31, 2005 oh sorry i tried that aswell but still no luck :-( *.jpg means pic.jpg right in the same folder as mp3s? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Nope, the image should be called folder.jpg. The name of the folder can be anything you like. To clarify, I copy over the following file structure from my PC to my SD card: MP3s  Album1    Track1    Track2    Track...    Folder.jpg  Album2    Track1    Track2    Track...    Folder.jpg  Album3    Track1    Track2    Track...    Folder.jpg This is a windows thing, it'll show up if you use thumbnail view in Windows Explorer (on XP at least).
Guest Pondrew Posted October 31, 2005 Report Posted October 31, 2005 Thanks Bluesxman, thought that was what you meant but having never done it myself I didn't want to mislead...

Guest roma0803 Posted November 3, 2005 Report Posted November 3, 2005 (edited) Ok, it worked for me yesterday. Now a new album, with a folder.jpg and it is not showing in WMP10. Size is way bigger then the other jpg so gonna resize it to try again.... Edit: That did it for me. I noticed my jpg wasn't showing anymore so stumbled upon this thread. Saw my folder.jpg was 3.5MB big so resized it. Now it's a nice 89Kb and does show again in Mediaplayer. Might be working for you also, check the size and resize if it's +1MB or so. It doesn't matter that much what dimensions are used, WMP will resize it to show up correctly in the player. folder.jpg goes with the album in the correct folder. After opening WMP point the library towards your storage card and let it search for music. When found, hit play and enjoy the music with album art in the player.
