Anyone know where I can get this? I looked all over and cant find it on the original developers site.

Will this work on the SMT5600?

If anyone knows where to get it or can send it to me, that would be cool.

I'm sure you still find it somewhere if you do a search for it.

I haven't seen the game for a while as the guy who ported it to the smartphone is no longer working on it.

OK finally found it and got it working.

Does anyone know if there is a way to bring down the console to run custom maps?

It works on old smartphones, on my QVGA I get blank screen too

Use the White screen fix from the pocketmatrix forum

http://www.pocketmatrix.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=20900

pqwhitescreenfix.zip

You can also add the following commands to the autoexec config file, just open the file up in notedpad and paste them at the bottom:

r_maxparticles "0"

d_mipcap "4"

d_mipscale "4"

precache "1"

r_maxsurfs "400"

r_maxedges "1600"

cl_bob "0"

cl_bobup "0"

d_mipcap "1"

d_mipscale "1"

r_waterwarp "0"

r_maxparticles "0"

crosshair "1"

fov "70"

loadas8bit "1"

m_filter "1"

I used them on my SDA II (C550) and it works great.

The only problem I have is that I can't save any keys binded to the left and right buttons, they just reset each time I start Quake, so I have to set them manually every time, a bit of a headache. Oh and you have to use the full version of Quake as far as I'm aware.

BTW. the display will still be small on QVGA screens.

Oh and I'm new so mods if I've broken any rules, please be gentle.

Thanks, at least it will work ;)

Too bad no QVGA resolution :?:

quake is not fast enough to be truly playable on Smartphones or even on PPC's (with the exception of the 3d chip supported version shown at trade shows)

Quake works on my qtek with I overclock it to 240 Mhz

Muff, you have no idea how fast the CPU in this phone is...

It IS playable, I will do timedemo later. I'm nvidia fan, owner of 7800GT, so I know what "playable" means.

PS: my post on OMAP850 Overclock results: http://www.modaco.com/index.php?showtopic=...46&hl=overclock

P.S.2: If we only could get Quake to run full screen... It runs in a 176x220 window in the middle of the 320x240 screen and because the vid mode is 240x180 portrait, so part of the screen is not visible at all :?:

I meant no offense, merely that on all the Smartphone and PPC devices I've seen PocketQuake run on so far it has always had ;)

I have the source and eVB4 installed, but I don't know how to fix the white screen. Only then I could "try" (being no programmer) to make it run full screen. Source readme points to correct file for setting resolution.

erm, for starters the source is in C++ not VB

after that, the vid-to-screen code is in vid_ppc.c

I understand what you mean, but I am a big fps fan, I have tried doom and quake when they were running only on powerfull computers, so I hope you understand how happy I am to have these games on my phone ;)

Ok Muff, you are right when you say that you miss the mouse control playing this kind of games. I miss the Ctrl key, wich allows you to switch between rotate or lateral move. Maybe we have to readapt our controls to this games.

But I've been moving this game on my Qtek 8310, with a little overclock ( till 240 Mhz ), and THIS REALLY MOVE SO SOFT, FAST AND CLEARLY. I'm wondering, coz even doom qon't moves as soft as quake.

I'm wondering much more thinking about why if this app is running so good, and I think it needs some CPU power, the SNES emus and other ports doesn't work similar. The EMUS are having a lot of sound & speed problems. But that last is only one deep thinking.

i am playing quake at quite full speed... aound -+50fps.... same speed as doom. much more speedy than pocketsnes for example.

but it's not in qvga, so i prefere playing duke nukem or doom ;)
