Sda In Car Kit - Car Profile Fault

hi, i m using t-mobile sda which is running co pilot. Recently installed car kit in vehicle, now when connected to car kit the phone changes to 'car' profile and all handset sounds/keytones are muted. You can't change profile whilst docked in car kit. Although this is Ok for telephone usage its not for running co pilot as no sound guidance . I have tried a bluetooth car kit and this works fine as it uses the headset profile and the phones speakers continue to work.

My question is does anybody know of a fix/registry change I can perform that enables the phones speaker to work when in 'car' profile ??
