Hi,

I have a Nokia Bluetooth car kit installed (about 3 years old). It has worked well but always with Nokias up to now. I have tried to connect my SMT5600. No problem pairing them and they initially connect, however this is only for a few seconds and they disconnect. I get the feeling the car kit is disconnecting for some reason.

Does this car kit only work with Nokias or am I missing something in the set up.

Any help would be appreciated as I'd rather not change the car kit if possible.

Thanks,

Ken.

Works fine with my moto mpx220 - the cark112 has a 10 pairing memory so once you're upto that phones will attempt to pair but not connect - nokias say 'device not ready' on the phone, moto's just say error - you have to hard reset the car kit by removing and replugging the speaker (?) while it's powered up - check your manual to be sure.

If it's not that then sorry, can't help.

Thanks, I'll give that a try, although I don't think there has been 10 phones attached over the last 3 years.

Problem is finding the box, it's well buried in the dash somewhere.

Ken.

Hello,

you'd be surprised how many phones you'll have paired - I used this fix on someone elses' cark112 recently who swore he'd only used 5 phones and it sorted it. Maybe you're not upto 10 pairings but the unit needs a hard reset anyway?

I know what you mean about it being buried in the dash - I'm unable to pair anything new but I've been putting it off, and may even replace the carkit at the same time as IMO this is a severe limtation for someone like me who changes handset regularly. Still, at the time it launched it was fantastic! Looking at the parrot 3300 as a replacement.
