I've bought Motorola MPx-200 a month ago and I think it is good phone for its price, but I have some questions and I was hoping that someone in this forum can help me(sorry for my terrible English):

1.Is it possible to rotate the MPx200's display horizontal just like MPx300 with some kind of theme or with some software?

2.Can I connect a USB keyboard to my phone with some aditional drivers?

3.Can I install Windows Mobile 2003 for Pocket PC on my phone? And if no, why?

Thanks.

Welcome to the site :o

1, No as the operating system for the phone is not designed this way, unlike the Pocket Pc phone editions.

2, Unfortunately not as the phone is a slave device so you would have to find a USB keyboard that is can act as a master device.

3, Again No as the MPX200 is a Smart phone and not a Pocket PC, the hardware is incompatable there is no touchscreen and the memory is handled differently etc.

There is an ilegal copy of 2003 Smartphone around on the internet, but most people end up going back to 2002 as it is more stable and less buggy.

1.I am using Windows Mobile 2003 PowerMOTO(hacked in germany), but I also have the original version(providet by Micro$oft)

2.I found a software from Nyditot & Soft Object Technologies, Inc. called Virtual Desktop Controller. On the company's site was wrote, that it can work on Win Mobile 2003 and all

other Win CE OS. I will try it and will tell you if it's working.

1, Microsoft has never released a rom for the public, any version you have will be an ilgal copy. Also it will still not allow you to rotate the screen as you have a phone and not a Pocket PC. To do what you ask would require a complete rewrite of the operating system.

2, Virtual desktop contoller will not allow you to use a USB keyboard on the phone, it allows you to control the phone from your computer but that's it. There are plenty of other applications that do the same liek pocket controller from www.soti.com

These applications will not allow you to do what you asked in your first post.

Pocket Controller-Professional is used to control the phone from the PC, and Virtual Desktop Controller or Nydtitot Virtual Desktop is for screen rotation. On the webpage was written, that it is working on Windows Mobile 2003 First and Second Edition, but when I try to install it, it seys that the installation file is not intended for my device. And I

am haveing the 2003's ROM, which was designed from Microsoft for MPx-200.Why is it illegal?

Oh, and before I forget : Does MPx-200 have a LED?If no, can I add one?

Windows mobile will be for the Pocket PC

You have Windows Mobile Smartphone edition which is diferent.

Any rom you have 2002 or 2003 will be ilegal as no ROM for the MPX200

has ever been released to the public. Only the networks are allowed to use a ROM and release an update under their licence agreement if they wish to. As yet no network has done this.

Also the MPX200 does not have an LED.
