Well this is officially my first post. Before I get flamed, I have searched and search. Still I have not come with any answers. Was wondering if you guys could point me in the right direction. :(

I want to decertify your phone, and application unlock my phone. The i930 which came out 10/6/05, is running Windows Mobile 2003 SE. I was looking at the pinned turotial....Here..

by pzee. What I'm not sure of is, does this tutorial work for all smartphones??? :?:

Also, I need to be pointed in the right direction on how to install apps. I know it has something to do with *.cabs files. Now I'm computer proficient, I'm not a total NoOb, just haven't messed around with smartphones yet! :o

Any help, much appreciated!!

UPDATE: I just went and tried following the directions. I downloaded the ActionRegister.ARM.cab utility from Orange to register it. This error message came up : "Installation failed. The program or setting cannot be installed because it is not digitally signed with a trusted certificate" HELP

try those 2 to unlock/decert the phone - it may/may not work. If it doesnt, contact your network service provider and tell them you wish the phone to be decerted.

To install apps, you need to decert your phone generally, once done then simply copy over the cab file(s) to the mobile device and just run it there.

or sometimes if there is a .exe setup, run it from your PC but make sure your phone is connected to the PC and activesynced is open and connected. This will then install the files on your phone from the setup file! :o

hope it helps

Well I tried both of these, they did not work. Here is the error message I got:

"Sorry but we are unable to find the IMEI number that you have entered on our database.

If you are certain that the details you have entered are correct, consult the following solutions:"

I'm sure you guys know what those solutions are. I'm assuming since I'm not registered with Orange, that is the issue. Anybody else have any other ideas? I'm going to contact nextel tomorrrow to see, if they have something set up.

 The registery, is also locked on the phone, anybody know ways around that?

Welcome to the site :o

You need to run the Action Register application from the Developers site.

As mentioned when you get this error message,

You will need to download a short Registry application, which will initiate full registration of your SPV.

This application registers your IMEI which wen done will enable you to application unlock your phone.

EDIT forgot to check the first post fully as you have the Motorola i930

This phone is locked differently to Orange Smartphones and may not work.

Not even the action registry app and be loaded to the phone. So it's a no go for now.

What we need is a statement from the network to ask what they are

doing locking a phone down, and if they will be offering an unlocking service.

Not sure about this on nextel but worth checking...

If you can run the HTC-signed registry editor then better. Next move would be to look for the 2 registry keys to alter. So transfer 'regeditSTG.exe' to card using a card reader/writer, rename to '1.exe'. Power on phone. Open IE then type path based on location of '1.exe' If it is on the root storage card then type: 'file://\Storage%20Card\1.exe' then go.

Still no go? Then we'll have to wait for someone to figure out how to unlock that phone.

 Hiya! Did anyone ever figure out a way to unlock the i930? I just got mine and I can't use the Pocketplayer or even SmartVideo....argh.

Yes, I am a newbie here....so please bear with me. I do a big commute to work and thought this phone would be such a cool thing to use.

Any news on Nextel unlocking it or anyway of getting aroung the "lock"?

Thanks!
