Guest awarner [MVP] Posted October 9, 2005 Report Posted October 9, 2005 Over at Smartphone Thoughts they have posted news of a new model of the HTC Tornado that appears to have been taken on by T-Mobile. As yet there is not an official release date but the specs look interesting with the following information so for, - Built-in 802.11b Wi-Fi support - EDGE - Quad-band GSM. From looking at the photos, it seems like the odd bulge at the top of the SDA is for a bigger or better antenna. The original HTC Tornado model does not have it. It seems like T-Mobile has requested for a slight modification to improve signal reception for its US model. Makes sense, considering that models with internal antennas don't do well here in the US because of the spotty GSM coverage in some areas. Looks an interesting device but I'm not too sure about the bulge! Source CoolSmartphone

Guest Pondrew Posted October 9, 2005 Report Posted October 9, 2005 Looks like the the I-Mate SP5m but for the bulging antenna. Strange... well, I'd be tempted a bit because it's T-Mobile (they've served me very well since joining them last January) BUT it's not a looker like the I-Mate SP5. @tha_neo: quote removed: we know which post you're referring to! :o

Guest spr33 Posted October 12, 2005 Report Posted October 12, 2005 I'd hit it :o The phone itself isn't the best of looking, but it's feature rich. Having Wi-Fi would be the thing to make me wanna buy this phone.
