Color_highgradleft/right

In this picture:

it says that COLOR_HIGHGRADLEFT/RIGHT is the highligt color for the programs/start menu, but all I get is that color on a little tiny bit to the right on the selected row, any one has any ideas how to ix this?

That tutorial is for wm for smartphones 2002, and I got 2003, can it be something they have changed, if so, does anyone know how to do it on 2003?
