Activesync 4.0 - No Category Filtering Anymore

Received my SP5 smartphone last week to replace my SP3i.

Installed ActiveSync 4.0 from the CD provided and.....

....has anyone else noticed the lack of any category filtering for either Contacts or Calendar items?

MS seems to have removed this functionality from ActiveSync 4.0. So you either sync your entire contact and calendar folders or you don't sync at all.

This seems to be a backwards step in functionality.

Anyone else noticed this?

Thanks Nick. I couldn't find anyone else missing these features. Feel better now that I'm not alone.

Still very anoyed at MS for ditching this functionality though.

What an earth could they have been thinking? Was it a cop out to get the release out the door quickly? Can be the only explanation surely?

I can't believe they sat in a features and functionality meeting before building it and decided 'yes - thats a good idea, we'll remove all category filtering, the end users will love that!'
