Guest csmager Posted October 10, 2005 Report Posted October 10, 2005 Hi there I had a C500 which I got in June as an upgrade - it was black, and had the latest firmware version. I then got my room broken into and, along with my laptop and wallet, my phone got nicked. I've just taken delivery of a (probably refurbished) silver C500 with the old firmware. I downloaded ActiveSync, installed it. Downloaded the update utility, ran it. I get the error: "The Update Utility can not create the requested file. Please check your Update Utility" The only thing I can think of is that Orange didn't sent me another Mini-SD card, so my phone is running SD-less. The sim also (after 6 and a half hours) still hasn't been activated. Any thoughts?
Guest csmager Posted October 10, 2005 Report Posted October 10, 2005 Rebooted the phone, and it worked. Ah well. The mysteries of electronics!
Guest bluesmudge Posted October 12, 2005 Report Posted October 12, 2005 Orange take up to 24 hours to activate the phone its bad i know - mine took 48! (system problem apparently) But i asume you now have the active sync problem sorted then?

I rang them, and they said they had no record of it ever having been registered! Beggar's belief. Anyway, she re-registered it - properly - and it was working within 2 hrs.
