Guest stevem999 Posted October 11, 2005 Report Posted October 11, 2005 I've just started putting some music on my MPX220 and using the installed WMP9 to play it - the sound quality is superb however I'm trying to find out if you can have the music listed on the phone by album or put into folders named after the album? At the moment if I copy an album across then it just provides a long list of track names, if I then copy another album across then the tracks from this one just add onto the bottom of the last one! It seems to be a bit like an Ipod shuffle in that you can play all your tracks one by one or shuffle them and that's it. Have I missed something? Cheers PS - is there a 'Stop Button' anywhere in WMP9? There is pause, volume and buttons to change tracks but if you pause it then WMP9 is always active in the background if you go and do another task etc - there isn't even an Exit command or anything that I can see - had to use the Task Manager to kill it!
Guest Disco Stu Posted October 11, 2005 Report Posted October 11, 2005 Not having a proper Stop or Exit button is standard as part of the Windows Smartphone operating system. In fact it is not confined to Media Player; you'll find most applications are the same. In WMP you can use the Library function to sort files by album, artist or genre. It is probably not quite what you were looking for but if you put each album in its own folder it should do the trick. Personally I prefer using a third-party alternative. The Core Pocket Media Player is most peoples' favourite and it is free - http://tcpmp.corecodec.org/about - and I would recommend the commercial products Pocket Music and Simple Tunes.
Guest stevem999 Posted October 12, 2005 Report Posted October 12, 2005 Thanks for the info - I'll have a play with the Library function and see how I get on. I might also try the Core Player as I understand that this is the one everyone uses for Video as well (the old Betaplayer?)
