Guest Ralph The Lizard Posted October 11, 2005 Report Posted October 11, 2005 Hi guys I am a bit of a n00b when it comes to my SDA/HTC feeler so I apologise if I am asking a dumb quesion- I have a SDA which I bought on T-mobile, but which I have unlocked and use with an 02 PayAsUGo Sim. Everything works fine, except for one thing - When I try to access wap sites with IE it errors with the message "alert - this page contains errors and cannot be displayed" However accessing regular sites is fine, so its not a connection issue. My friend who used to have a SPV said there was an option within IE which lets you configure it to allow wap pages - however there is no such option on my phone. Do I need a reg hack, or is it simpler than that? Please help! :o
Guest Ralph The Lizard Posted October 12, 2005 Report Posted October 12, 2005 OK.... if you cant help me with it, could you let me know if any of you guys have the same problem with wap pages or am I alone on this one?
Guest Samsonite Posted October 12, 2005 Report Posted October 12, 2005 i dont think anyones ignoring you... :o I dont completely understand your problem. My Magician can surf wap sites without any pages setup changes and so could my old E200. i know its not the same device but i have never experienced the errors you mention when solely related to WAP pages... :-k sorry nothing positive...
Guest Posted October 12, 2005 Report Posted October 12, 2005 Well, using a Jam on an O2 contract, I find it can't access WAP sites as well. Not sure what the problem is though. I thought with O2 PAYG, you couldn't access normal web sites, but you seem to be having the exact opposite problem. Strange.
Guest Ralph The Lizard Posted October 15, 2005 Report Posted October 15, 2005 OK thanks for the help guys, I was just wondering if others had similar problems, but I guess not..... Im going to try and use an alternative browser, e.g. Opera and see if the problem was to do with pocket IE or something else.
Guest martin Posted October 16, 2005 Report Posted October 16, 2005 The problem is because O2 GPRS WAP only allows HTML pages via proxy port 8080 and WML pages via port 9201. You can always create 2 proxy connections ;) O2 proxy1= 193.113.200.195:8080, HTTP O2 proxy2= 193.113.200.195:9201, WAP
