Guest spider Posted October 11, 2005 Report Posted October 11, 2005 Have someone any good suggestions to the following: I want to sync my outlook with the C 550; however I only want to sync some specific folders, specific contacts and specific calendar “folders” I have divided my outlook into different groups one for private and one for business and I only want to sync my private contacts and private mail, but I cant seems to find how to specify which folder I want to sync and which I do not want to sync. For contact persons I can see that I can tick or un-tick each and every person. Further to that it seems that after I have installed AS it has now mixed up all my private and business contacts, instead of keeping them separated, as I used to have   How do I select which contact “folder” I want to sync and which one I don’t want to sync? For mail items, how do I select which mail folder I want to sync and which one I don’t want to sync? For calendar items, it is the same, how do I select which calendar “folder” I want to sync and which one I don’t want to sync? Further to that…I have seen that there is an AS version 4 out there, but do any of you were I can find it and download it? I already tried MS but with no luck…. Thanks in advance for all your help.
Guest hotphil Posted October 11, 2005 Report Posted October 11, 2005 How have you got it set in ActiveSync>Options>Contacts/Inbox>Settings? That should be all you need to do I think.
Guest spider Posted October 12, 2005 Report Posted October 12, 2005 well I have already tried that and I can set (tick) the folder which I want to sync, but for some reason it sync all my folders even though I have not selected them... And for the calender I can not select which calender "folder" I want, as I simply dont have any choice what so ever..I can only select "sync all" or "sync only past weeks or future weeks" or "sync only the following appointments" however nothing is stated here. ...how do I get around that? Did I do something wrong during the installation of AS itself or what could be the problem.... Please help  ....thanks :o
Guest hotphil Posted October 12, 2005 Report Posted October 12, 2005 That doesn't sound like it is working right. I would try deleting the partnership in ActiveSync (File>Delete Partnership), reboot PC and SPV, reconnect and re-establish the partnership. When setting the new partnership up go through each setting and subsetting and make sure it looks right. You definitely should be able to only sync contacts of certain categories and only certain mail folders.
