Guest tim_tim304 Posted October 12, 2005 Report Posted October 12, 2005 I have a SPV C500 upgraded to WM5. Activesync 4 is required here and works fine. Now I have this new laptop preinstalled with XP. After installing activesync 4.0 or 4.1 and setting up synchronisation the SPV gives the following message: alert To synchronize this device you must install ActiveSync 4.0 or higher on your desktop compute. Anyone familiar with the problem? Thanks, Tim

Guest vimafeje Posted October 17, 2005 Report Posted October 17, 2005 Anyone? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> hi! i have the same problem, but i tink it wil be resolved if you intall the service pack 2.... ( i tink)
Guest furby Posted October 17, 2005 Report Posted October 17, 2005 Did you have a previous version of activesync installed? (guessing not) Make sure the firewall is turned off or open. Especially if you have zone alarm, casues no end of issues. Do you need to allow the sync with "this computer" on the C500, haven't got mine on me at the moment, i don't think so but just a suggestion

Guest vimafeje Posted October 20, 2005 Report Posted October 20, 2005 My problem is solved!!!!!!! just need to install "activesync 4.1" and let my computer search the driver online! i can't tell you more, because i don't know how!!! i've got LUKY!!!!!!!!!!! YUPPYYYYYY 8) ;) 8) :D
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted October 20, 2005 Report Posted October 20, 2005 So you managed to sort your problem of using one piece of unofficial software by using another piece of unofficial software
