Keeping pop3 emails?

I don't know if this is a setting I've over looked, but I can't keep any pop3 emails. When I get them new, I can read them over, but if I go back to read it again its gone. It doesn't keep anything, just shows me whats new on the server. I'm on SMT5600 running WM5, but I've had the same problem in 2003SE.
