Guest muffking Posted October 13, 2005 Report Posted October 13, 2005 Hi guys. I've dug out my old copy of TomTom Mobile on my Mini SD card for use with my second hand SPV-C500, but had to buy another bluetooth GPS receiver as the old one's dead. It connets to the phone and lets me get as far as entering the passkey to pair it with the phone, but TomTom Mobile doesn't see it. Is there anything I can do to force TomTom to recognise the new GPS receiver?
Guest muffking Posted October 13, 2005 Report Posted October 13, 2005 Just to add to that. TomTom just says no GPS device when I try to configure it. It seems to work with PocketStreets on the C500, although I never took it outside to look for sattellites.

I solved it by not pairing the GPS mouse directly but in the Bluetooth COM port setup switch incoming om. If you leave the screen it says you have to pair a device and leads you to that pairing screen. Afterwords the mouse was found. I have heared that some people had to do this while ToTom mobile was switched on (leave program thruogh the button) If this doesn't work try to pair your mouse on a PPC device on the same way. You have to point out what service is offered by the paired device. If you choose GPS it will try to identify this service. Sometimes the GPS mouse will not advertise this service and than the Smartphone or PPC can not identify the GPS mouse as a GPS mouse although it will pair the device woth bluetooth. Pairing does not mean you will receive the offered service. Bluetooth is a communication protocol.
Guest Wayne877 Posted April 11, 2007 Report Posted April 11, 2007 I had this problem with mine till someone on here gave me the answer So I'll pass this on too When you've paired the bluetooth device rename it to "Other Bluetooth GPS" note the capitals!!!! this should work a treat ;)
