Guest Griff_FFOC Posted October 13, 2005 Report Posted October 13, 2005 File Name :: Windows Mobile Black Author :: Griff_FFOC Category :: Computer Description :: I like the look and functionality of the standard windows homescreen, but fancied a change of colour, similar to what is available for the PDA from Microsofts website. This is the same as the 'Windows Default' homescreen, but with a different colour scheme and different coloured background. Just unzip the contents into the Storage\Application Data\Home folder. *modified the menu highlight color to a darker shade to aid in symbol selection screen* Updated Mon, Dec 5 2005 2:44 pm View File
Guest divebmbr Posted November 2, 2005 Report Posted November 2, 2005 Thanks for the backround. How do I get my start and contacts to be grey like the pic? Thanks, Divebmbr
Guest Griff_FFOC Posted November 5, 2005 Report Posted November 5, 2005 Thanks for the backround. How do I get my start and contacts to be grey like the pic? Thanks, Divebmbr <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's not just a background. Copy the contents of the zip file .jpg and .xml files to the right folder, and from the Homescreen option, select Windows Mobile Black as the homescreen, and set the background option to 'default'. You should then have your colour scheme changed too. ;)
Guest rasncain Posted December 4, 2005 Report Posted December 4, 2005 Its a nice simple skin that I personally find to be my favorite, really matches well I believe with my SMT 5600 the whole (black and silver) colors you know. I have one slight problem with it though that I have not been able to resolve yet, mainly due to my lack of knowledge about the phone and skins and stuff. I just got my phone 4 days ago so I am a major novice. Anyway, the problem I am having with this is on the symbols selection screen. The cursor is apparently white as you cannot determine where you are on the screen to select a symbol. I assume this is tied to the skin as this was not a problem for me with the default theme/skin. Any ideas on this? Kinda causes me a problem using this skin and i really dont want to have to stop using it.
Guest Griff_FFOC Posted December 5, 2005 Report Posted December 5, 2005 (edited) Anyway, the problem I am having with this is on the symbols selection screen. The cursor is apparently white as you cannot determine where you are on the screen to select a symbol. This will be down to me not setting the colour correctly, :?: I've uploaded a modified version which has the menu highlight to a different color, an off-white instead of white. This should be enough to see what is highlighted in the symbol selection screen. :) Either wait a couple of days to download the modified version, or: Copy the \Storage\Application Data\Home\Windows Default Black.home.xml file to your PC, then edit it using notepad and change the line <color name="COLOR_HIGHLIGHT" value="#FFFFFF" /> to read: <color name="COLOR_HIGHLIGHT" value="#EAEAEA" /> Then save the file, and copy it back onto your phone in the same place. Guest rasncain Posted December 6, 2005 Report Posted December 6, 2005 Well, that was very helpful info. Much better! Love this theme man. I can tell its not that easy getting all the colors just right. The symbols selection is better now, as well as the IA Caller ID. That application has alternating white and grey lines, with the white text from before you would get blank lines on the one you selected. Now I am trying to figure out how to make the cursor a little more apparent when you are on the text messaging screen. The background there is grey, and the cursor is as well, so again you run into a problem seeing where you are. Same issue when I use Orneta Notepad, the grey cursor and the grey background makes it a tad bit hard on the eyes to determine just where you are. Nothing a little tinkering can't fix I am sure. Any ideas or input would be greatly appreciated.
Guest msiler Posted December 24, 2005 Report Posted December 24, 2005 Just wanted to say thank you. I love this Color change on my SMT5600! I am new to smartphones and just loved the simple elegance of the little theme.
