xphone II problems

hi all,

I'm writing with the hope that you can help me, or offer advice, regarding some problems i'm having with my 02 xphone II. i'm not sure if the problems are related, but they are definitely frustrating.

the first, after several hours of being turned on the phone will stop receiving messages, stop being able to change profiles and stop being able to make or receive calls. when i try to make a call it simply says a call cannot be made.

the only (temporary) cure for this is to turn it off. and therein lies the second problem. whenever the phone is switched off i lose all sms's in my inbox.

have you heard of anything like this before? 02 suggested i delete all 3rd party software, which ive done. they then said if that didnt work i should send it to a repair point.

oh, and another symptom of the first problem is that buttons stop working. the consequence of this is that if the phone partially freezes while the phone is locked, i cannot unlock it.

i really hope someone can help. its frustrating and as this is a new phone to australia there is very little by way of support for it.

hope to hear form someone soon.

Sounds like a poor ROM on the phone, first thing I would do is to wipe the phone with a Hard Reset this will restore it back to it's factory defaults and will also hopefully fix your problem.

apart from that if thr phone is new and under warranty I would send it back for a replacement. It's possibly not the phone but if you can change it at no cost I would just to play on the safe side.

For those that are interested, the process is this:

"Firstly, press and hold down both soft keys, and then press and hold down the on/off button for 1.5 sec and then release the on/off button while still pressing the two soft keys. There will be a message for you to press'0' to confirm you want to hard reset the Xphone."

there will be a "cold boot config" status bar, then the phone will restart.

wow, its a new phone again! except for that scratch on the screen.....wonder if i can hard reset that

hope it works because 02 say this could void my warranty!
