SPV C500 Revert back to 4.1.1.4 ROM

Hi everyone,

Could anyone point me in the right direction as to how I could revert my SPV c500 ROM from 4.2.1.2 back to 4.1.1.4. since i upgraded to the new ROM ive been having problems with video media playback and also the general speed of the phone has slowed down (and i know im not the only one with trouble). Ive downloaded the 4.1.1.4 ROM from the Orange site but when i try to run it I get an error message saying the ROM is an UPGRADE ONLY. does anyone know where i could get a revision of the ROM that will give me a "fresh install" of 4.1.1.4?

You can't downgrade it.

I think someone posted an steps where you can 'hack' it, but it's not adviseable.

I was told once that you could downgrade provided that the phone was unlocked via imei-check before you did the upgrade. Mine is unlocked, c500...and have gone from 4114 to 4211 then back to 4114 then to 4211, then to 4212. No problems with 4212 but have not noticed any change in orange internet access (speed or other). Have not tried to play mp3's or videos yet though. You may actually have another problem. Do you have any dodgy homescreens or programs on it that you didn't have before???
