Guest shouldibuy Posted October 15, 2005 Report Posted October 15, 2005 I posted this on Hofo but they are many yanks and so don't understand much the dilema. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi, This is my 1st post. I'm in desperate need of a phone, was going to get spv m500, its orange's version of magician but really need a keyboard. So I went to orange store in switzerland and they said no definite date. BUT he knew of M600, which most don't, and he knew of M5000 the jas jar version so he was not confused. He estimated end of month of early nov, seems optimistic? i can wait till eearly nov but no more. What do you guys/ gals think?? anyone work for orange here?? I'm not so optimistic as m5000 has been on coming soon for months i feel. UPDATE went to another store, and obviously the so called phone expert (you got to love them) said I had no clue what i was talking about. Only have M5000 which will come out. Again he didn't know when. oh my oh my..... frustrations!!! went to another store, non orange and he said it will be out for sale end of oct or early nov, but under different mobile company. Hey its fine by me if orange don't want my business! UPdate 2 Today I called Qtek distributors and one shop said it just sold the 9100 and is out. Middle of next week will be arriving more units. Problem is that they sell about 200 more than mobile operator stores. thats quite a bit!!
Guest Pondrew Posted October 15, 2005 Report Posted October 15, 2005 Well, the Wizard is already available online and in some stores in the UK although as far as I know only branded by Imate or Qtek. The Orange SPV M600 has been rumoured for a long time but I've not seen anything concrete at all.
Guest shouldibuy Posted October 17, 2005 Report Posted October 17, 2005 orange reply Dear Sir, Thank you for your e-mail. You might want to enquire about the SPV C600, as there is no known plan yet of a possible SPV M600. The C600 is planned to be launched on 29th of this month, with hope there will be no postponing. I suggest you request one of our Orange Center to let you know once it reaches their stalls.
Guest adchaffey Posted October 18, 2005 Report Posted October 18, 2005 I'm in the same position. My contract with orange runs out early november. I really would like to get the M600 (or whatever orange will eventually call it!) but there are a few good deals around from O2 and Vodafone for the Qtek 9100 and the i-mate K-Jam (both different versions of the HTC wizard). So unless orange really get moving and let us know what they're going to do with that phone, I may be forced to move.........to the dark side!! ;) Fingers crossed orange will read my little post and immediately crack on and get that phone out there. What? I can dream can't I???

I'm new to Europe and here in Switzerland there is only one other alternative which is more expensive so that is why I was hoping to go with Orange. Some 3rd party places alraedy have Qtek 9100 here but its very expensive even with a new subscription. May I ask your preference for Orange in the UK over the other 2 listed providers?

But I also need to keep my number so it would be easier to stay with Orange, although I know I can transfer it if I need to. And not to forget that I hope the fact that I spend £80 - £90 per month with orange and have been with them for many years now, I would hope they could do me a good deal with the phone if they ever release it!

Good news, so I stopped by (actually this time I really walked by one while doing other errands) another orange store and the person was kind enough to answer my questions. No more M500 in stock at taht store - although I do know that its still relatively easy to get them over here, but more coming in Nov. He said that M5000 and M600 should be here end of Nov. (lets see if there are more delays!!!) Well its good to know they actually have a clue about whats coming out. Just to make sure, I pretended like I didn't know and asked which one the M600 was again- and yes he did know what it was with the sliding Keyboard. I make note bec some think of C600, or get confused with M5000. Happy waiting!
