Guest zeushell Posted October 16, 2005 Report Posted October 16, 2005 As there are some SDIO WLAN cards on the market and the Windows Mobile 2003, is it possible for SDIO-enabled smartphones to work with these cards? Socket Communications for example have their WM2003 drivers with their SDIO WLAN card: http://www.socketcom.com/support/support_wlan.asp?Type=SDIO2 There are also similar cards with 256MB storage memory in addition to the WLAN. Are older phones like MPx200 with WM2003 able to use WLAN SDIO cards, as I saw that there are Wi-Fi settings in WM2003 registry. If anyone has tried, please reply to the post. Thank you
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted October 16, 2005 Report Posted October 16, 2005 Welcome to the site ;) The information you see is a left over from the PPC, the problem with a wifi card is the lack of drivers
Guest squall Posted October 16, 2005 Report Posted October 16, 2005 also the sd wifi cards tend to be a fair bit bigger than standard sd cards so stick out about 10mm.
Guest Alex_le_brit Posted October 17, 2005 Report Posted October 17, 2005 Socket also has drivers for the WM2003 Sagem My X7, but no-one has yet tried these with a socket Wifi card in any other WM2003 phone. Should work though shouldn't it.
