Smartphone soundboard application?

I've had this idea for a while now for what would be a simple, yet pretty fun idea for an application.

I'm sure you've all seen those things you can get now, like Stewie Griffin in your pocket, which is basically just a little device with like 6 buttons on it and when you push the button, it plays a certain sound.

Kind of like having a mini sound board in your pocket.

Well I was thinking, it'd be cool if there was an application to do that on smartphones, you could use the keys as the buttons, giving you 12 sounds per "profile". I'd imagine it wouldn't be too hard to do, I'd make it myself if I even knew where to begin on smartphone development.

Anyone out there willing to give it a try?
