Guest muff Posted October 18, 2005 Report Posted October 18, 2005 with just a little work this could be really useful, beyond it's current info it could help you keep track of your club distances to aid with club selection - as well as seeing if you improve it could tell you the elevation between current location and green as well as distance and tied to a imported map gfx function could be a really nice interface to let you understand the lie of the land in pictorial form, not just numerical there are certainly some cool usages for this ;)
Guest Paul H Posted October 18, 2005 Report Posted October 18, 2005 Shot Tracking and club suggestion is the next planned feature once v1 is out-the-door and will be a free upgrade to all registered users. It is obviously possible to give elevation information between the player and the green, however I am not sure that this would be covered by the new R&A & USGA rule changes which permit GPS-based yardage systems in competition. ...sanction of the use of distance measuring devices, including GPS based systems and laser rangefinders. New Decision 14-3/0.5 allows a committee to permit the use of distance measuring devices by Local Rule. This applies to devices that measure distance only, not any other conditions that might affect a player’s game such as wind or gradient. Thanks for your suggestions, and I look forward to seeing you on the mCaddy Community. Paul http://www.mcaddy.co.uk
