Guest lllr Posted October 18, 2005 Report Posted October 18, 2005 Is there a way in Magneto to move storage/program memory around (similar to PocketPC slider bar)? After installing Good email client on my SP5m device, my storage memory decreased to only 384K but my program space is nearly 17Mb. Now my phone runs pops up aner ror indicating running low on memory. lllr

Did you find a solution for this? I have seen suggestions about the IE temp files, and this does not solve the problem either.
Guest Pondrew Posted November 8, 2005 Report Posted November 8, 2005 If I'm not mistaken Windows Mobile 5 uses a different memory configuration which won't allow adjusting of memory between program and storage. Not that Smartphone ever allowed this (did it?)
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted November 8, 2005 Report Posted November 8, 2005 No.... Looks like memory management needs to be my next tweak ;) P

Guest Paul [MVP] Posted November 8, 2005 Report Posted November 8, 2005 I've done my homework, and the functions for adjusting memory allocation don't work on WM5... so we're out of luck I think! Incidentally, having installed only a few things to the phone memory and the rest to SD... I don't seem to be having memory issues really... File Explorer is reporting 9.50MB free storage, 21.86MB free program memory. P

Although removing the crap eTrust AV s/w gave me a couple of megs back too. Thanks for looking into the tweak though ;)
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted November 8, 2005 Report Posted November 8, 2005 Yeah, I took the AV off straight away, and the games, basically all the crap they put on ;) P
Guest shilo99 Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 Yes, Please - HELP!!!!! I, too, am having problems with memory after installing Goodlink (needed for work). Any ideas on how to install this application on the Storage Card (the install process is through the phone's browser)...???
