Qtek S110 text messages prob

Please help. This is driving me nuts. Have just had my number ported from Orange to O2. Prior to this everything was ok (with temporary O2 number) but now when I try to send text messages (either by replying to messages sent to the temporary number or by selecting a mobile number from my contacts list) I get the message "Message undeliverable. Make sure the text message address was entered correctly and try again."

Can anyone help?

And have I got the right forum here?

Thanks loads in advance...

Assuming you have kept your Orange phone and are trying to use it on the O2 network with the O2 sim, it sounds like you need to change the message centre number to whatever it is for O2.

Nope, had both phones working, one on Orange (original number, my old C500 - extremely battered!) and one on O2 (my new Qtek S110 - apparently a temporary number).

Number has now transferred from Orange to O2 and cannot send textx. Will give O2 a call in the morning when they have re-opened their help line!

Have been with Orange a good 15 years or so. Got fed up with trying to negotiate the phones I wanted out of them..

Had the same problem when I did the same back in August. Had no connection from about 4pm till 6pm which I guessed to be due to the transfer. Then found out that I couldn't send texts (same error message as you got).

Was going to call O2 in the morning but found out that by then the problem had been resolved so I guess its all down to the number transfer.

Hope it gets sorted for you.

Thank you Jim.

I tried again this morning but still had the same problem, popped into the O2 shop this lunchtime to see if they could sort it. When I tried to show them the problem the message went. Apparently it is down to a delay of some sort with only part of the number porting.

Thanks everyone who came up with suggestions.
