Guest Doomstalk Posted October 20, 2005 Report Posted October 20, 2005 I've been using SP2003 on my MPx200 for around a year now, and I've always had this intermittent problem: whenever I use an internet-based app, my screen and backlight periodically go blank and when it turns back on (by keypress) I'm at the today screen. It doesn't seem to be a screen timeout, since it happens sometimes only 2 or 3 seconds after I've just pressed a key. Does anyone know what causes this, and how to fix it?
Guest Doomstalk Posted October 22, 2005 Report Posted October 22, 2005 A bit of an update: after some testing, it appears to be something wrong with power management, because it only happens on battery power. Kinda ironic, since turning the backlight on and off constantly like that seems to waste more power than leaving it on
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted October 29, 2005 Report Posted October 29, 2005 Is this only happening with on certain app?
Guest Doomstalk Posted November 28, 2005 Report Posted November 28, 2005 Is this only happening with on certain app? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Nope- it happens with: Pocket IE, Opera, Agile Messenger, NewsBreak, and SmartIRC- pretty much every GPRS app that I use. It might affect other programs, but I haven't noticed it (probably because I turn GPRS off when I'm not using it to save battery). Oh, and on a seemingly related note, if I disable screen/backlight timeout, and change my settings so it doesn't time out to the desktop, it'll occasionally type a "0" at random into any text box I might be inputting into (seemingly when it would normally do the blank thing). It doesn't seem to be anything wrong with my specific phone, as it's persisted across 2 phones, and innumerable memory resets/re-flashes. The only shell modification I've used is RJShortcut, and it happens regardless of wether or not it's installed. So I'm not sure what I'm doing that causes it for me, and apparently nobody else.
