Turn off email notify but leave on SMS notify?

I just got IMAP email working and signed up for the unlimited data plan. Now my phone constantly syncs with my email server. Neat!

The problem is, every time I get new email--which is virtually always--it beeps/buzzes at me. That's not helpful.

But if I turn it off, I'll never know when I get an SMS message, which is important.

Is there any way to get rid of notification-on-email, but keep notification-on-sms?

Try changing your settings in sounds for a new email alert to "none". That should shut it up! ;)
