Guest simonbrooke Posted October 22, 2005 Report Posted October 22, 2005 Am I missing something? From what I can see so far, Microsoft regards SMS messages as 160 characters max - I've been sending longer SMSs than this for a long time on other phones now. I don't want to send MMSs because they are much more expensive. Whilst on SMSs is it possible to get return receipts for sent messages? These are particularly useful because you know your mates have at least received the message on their phone. I can't find an option for this in my SPV C550. Only two days into my new phone, how many more 'Microsoft knows best' niggles will I come accros. Thanks and sorry if I am not the first to post this.
Guest Dumdidum Posted October 22, 2005 Report Posted October 22, 2005 Just write more than 160 characters - it's no problem! YOu can write up to 600 if I remember correctly And you can activate the receipt in the options menu! Sven
Guest hotphil Posted October 22, 2005 Report Posted October 22, 2005 (edited) AFAIK SMS's are 160 characters - it's not a Microsoft thing. The first "S" stands for "short" don't forget. They get split if they are more than 160 characters on any new phones that support it. Your other phone would also have been splitting them. You can set delivery notifications in the options Start>Messaging>Text Messages>Menu>8>2 Edited October 22, 2005 by hotphil
