Guest sSword Posted October 22, 2005 Report Posted October 22, 2005 I have just started a full time degree studying Java. The plan is to make stuff for WM2003 and WM5 platforms I currently know close to nothing about .net and only have just brushed on java My C500 does java but not very well, I would much prefer to make proper apps for smartphones. Can I make a java app, put it in .net's J# then make a mobile comaptible app? Thanks ;)
Guest ezekio Posted December 9, 2005 Report Posted December 9, 2005 .NET Java isn't the same as Java. J.NET uses the .net framework so it isn't compatible with Java. If you want to make apps for WinMobile compatible devices I would suggest a .net approach by using J.NET...it's much easies than plain java since it has all the advantages of .net framework.
Guest muff Posted December 9, 2005 Report Posted December 9, 2005 and alas the truth about most degrees is that they are out of date - especially with regards to something hi-tech like programming languages java is (imho) a nice idea - but it just doesn't cut it in the real world personally I've ALWAYS found that it's best to write (from a speed point of view) specific code for the target device - something more like C++ compiled for the target device i know this is probably NOT what u want to hear, but explore other languages - trust me :)
Guest Tech Posted December 9, 2005 Report Posted December 9, 2005 .NET all the way baby!!!! (or C++) contact me, i can teach you .NET if you wish
