Locking SPV C500

I have and SPV C500, and i want to know if there is a way to put a security lock on the phone. With certain other phones if ur phone is stolen and the sim is taken out, the phone still cannot be used unless the user has the security code. The SPV, apparenly only has sim lock, and device lock code, but this code does not stop other users from using your phone as long as the sim card is removed. Is there a way to security lock the phone, incase it is stolen.

I thought the device lock (phone lock) does this? I haven't a second SIM to check with, but when I pull out the SIM, I get a "missing or invalid SIM" error message. The only way to get rid of this is to shutdown and when I do, it seems to show the "Unlock" button still on the left soft key, so I would think that the device is still locked.

As I said, I can't test this fully.

my dads has a pin code on it. when he turns it on the home screen appears but then an application appears and asks for a code. i dont know how to set it on the c500, but he set the pin code on his old phone and it transferred to the c500. its something to do with the sim though.
