Guest max1956bikes Posted October 23, 2005 Report Posted October 23, 2005 i have seen wifi sd mini card for sale.does this mean i can put into my c500 in which i have normal sd mini 256 mb card half full of normal stuff we seem to collect.and with wifi if im close to outlet i can go on internet.this seems to good to be true?if so how much room is left on card as i presume the wifi bit uses up some memory on the card? hopefully this all makes sense.im sure a lot of people will be wondering how this all works.
Guest argh Posted October 23, 2005 Report Posted October 23, 2005 See this topic for more information. Apparently someone managed it, but they're keeping quiet about it.
Guest Will Posted October 23, 2005 Report Posted October 23, 2005 I believe the issue was that the c500 (and c550?? - dunno??) is not sdio-now! compatible, the hack was just that, he hacked a bit of casing out, so the larger than normal mini-sd card would fit. but alas it did not work.. So no go  , UNLESS YOU KNOW DIFFERENT! - go on proove me wrong..
Guest agent.m Posted October 23, 2005 Report Posted October 23, 2005 someone please what is sdio??? I been saying there is a card that should fit in mini sd slot for ages but it doesnt have drivers "yet" and here is my proof http://msmobiles.com/news.php/4462.html but peeps keep saying it wont fit. look alright to me. The ones people been looking at looks different to me.
Guest Will Posted October 23, 2005 Report Posted October 23, 2005 SD stands for Secure Digital and the I/O extensions are called SDIO. I believe (go on flame away) SDIO Now! is the extensions to the software to make drivers work, or to make them easier to write/use. *possibly just for Windows Mobile*? Most later (2002 onwards) SD devices were SDIO Now! but minisd does not seem to follow this standard, so the drivers 'as you would expect' would not work. I'm not really up to speed on device drivers, so hopefully someone will expand, but at the moment, minisd cards in minisd slots won't work. Will
