Guest mattball Posted October 23, 2005 Report Posted October 23, 2005 I just flashed to the new last rom Orange (UK) released - 4.2.1.2 and the bootloader is 2. something. Anyway when I try to transfere mp3 over using active sysncn The phone freezes - when I drop it straight into my music folder the phone freezes - I f I do a liberay update the phone freezes The problem would seem to lie with media player 10. It is hit or miss if the phone freezes whilst trying to play music . There are no other problems doing anything else on this phone. Any ideas guys? Would it be easier to go back to 4.2.1.1 or 4.1.0.1 (or what ever it was!!!!) Many thanks 8)
Guest mattball Posted October 23, 2005 Report Posted October 23, 2005 ok bit the bullet and thought I will flash back - just discovered it wont let me.....aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I just want to go back (unless someone can come up with a solution for my media10 problem.)WM9 is ok after using 10. How do I flash down to a older rom? Should I use another media player?????? Is there another media player??????????? I am ready to throw the phone in the bin , had enough ,just stressed about it where did I put my V3...........life has got to be better than this. thanks for the input guys keep it coming
Guest Disco Stu Posted October 23, 2005 Report Posted October 23, 2005 I would try a hard reset to see if you can get 4.2.1.2 bedded down properly. Otherwise there are far better media players than WMP10 (and I'll bet 11 et seq.) Look for TCPMP (aka The Core Pocket Media Player, formerly Betaplayer) which is well-covered on this forum and easily found with a quick Google. For music players, look on Handango etc for the commercial alternatives. Pocket Music is the undisputed champion with its EQ but I love the iPod-alike Simple Tunes.
Guest mattball Posted October 23, 2005 Report Posted October 23, 2005 done the hard reset and a little bit more stable.........noticed that if I shut everything down using task manager media player works better.......if I dont I get a memory low error. I am wondering if I need to format my sd card? Could this be the problem aswell????? All My music is on this ? Thanks again
Guest Disco Stu Posted October 24, 2005 Report Posted October 24, 2005 I doubt formatting the SD card will help - its usually a red herring - but, if you have backups of your files, there's no harm in trying it. I'd probably be looking at reflashing the ROM - better still, see if you can re-download it first. Make sure the battery is fully charged and hard reset straight after. What I don't understand is the 'memory low error' - I'm assuming that you don't have much installed on the phone now (ringtones, skins etc) and that you aren't hoarding your life's history of text messages. ;) In Task Manager if you hit Menu, System Info what readings are you getting for Storage, Program & Flash memory ?
