Guest Pondrew Posted October 24, 2005 Report Posted October 24, 2005 I did some reading up on Bluetooth today and found out that apparently the two most recent advances in Bluetooth technology were version 1.2 (which is essential for stereo bluetooth headphone compatibility and delivers power consumption improvements), and version 2.0 (which again greatly reduces power consumption over previous versions). The old old version was 1.1. Having just been comparing spec on the latest Imate devices on clubimate here I've just been shocked to discover Imate/HTC has DOWNGRADED the bluetooth on ALL their new Windows Mobile devices to version 1.1!? The Imate Jam and Imate New Jam (128meg version) were both Bluetooth 1.2 compatible so it's safe to assume so was the entire HTC Magician range. But the latest HTC devices on Imate, the Jasjar, KJam, SP5 and SP5m aren't! Whether this was Imates doing or HTC, this is pathetic! I for one will be closely scrutinising the spec sheets of my next device...
Guest zarquon Posted October 25, 2005 Report Posted October 25, 2005 Assuming it is not a typo on their part, perhaps they have reverted to an erlier version as it is more stable. I remember the introduction of plug and play 486 mother boards, it took until version 2.0g before you had a chance of working correctly. Alternatively it could Be a way to sell more batteries 8)
