Guest indy042 Posted October 25, 2005 Report Posted October 25, 2005 Hey, I hope someone can shed some light on this problem as Cingular and Audiovox can do nothing. I am on my 3rd 5600. While I love this phone, it is killing me! On a whim (I cannot find any connection) the phone will not let incoming or outgoing call through (full signal, so not in Airplane mode), no messages, no data, no VM alert etc. The software will still function, so I have no clue when it is like this. Cycle the power, it works great till next time. So far, both Cingular and Audovox have never heard of this. Audiovox has not updated their software, so they have no clue. Has anyone had this issue and what did you do to resolve it? Sadly, I am about to have to try another phone (Trio 650???) if I can't figure it out. Thanks so much! Andy
Guest greyfaction Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 yes - i've had this problem and discovered that the signal strength indicator reports a lot more than it is able to use. the cingular/att merger limits the bandwidth and will report strong signals but you cannot access them. this only happens in areas not abundant in quality signal strength. I am in Chicago an only have problems when i travel above the 20th floor. unfortunately i live on the 43rd floor. an external amplified antena will correct the issue.
