Guest pisquee Posted October 25, 2005 Report Posted October 25, 2005 (edited) Just had a new M500 delivered (a Orange Care replacement, due to my last one being dropped too many times and the volume slider breaking.) Anyways, over all it is the same as the last one I had, but there are a couple of things I have noticed ... The stylus fits a lot tighter - it seems a slightly smaller slot and slightly bigger stylus - i can fit the old stylus in easier but it is still a tighter fit then my last M500 Writing on the screen using the styii feels different - the last model it felt very smooth and slid easily, this model the screen seems to resist a little making it feel like writing on rubber, is the best way i can descibe it. The screen, seems to be 'blacker' around the none used areas. Edited October 26, 2005 by pisquee
Guest ah5150 Posted October 25, 2005 Report Posted October 25, 2005 (edited) probably just newer casing slightly modified - had a new one today also. stylus from the replacement does need slightly more force to get in not much difference tho EDIT: is it louder too - played music thru TCPMP and put it full whack thru the loudspeaker and seems really loud Edited October 25, 2005 by ah5150
Guest zippy172 Posted October 25, 2005 Report Posted October 25, 2005 I'm gonna be sending my 2nd M500 back to Orange I think.. The hissing sound coming from the screen area when the backlight is on is doing my swede in... When my 1st replacement arrived (i.e. the one I'm using now), the screen seemed a lot lot quieter, the stylus fit was a lot tighter, can't say I noticed anything about the screen border though...
Guest pisquee Posted October 26, 2005 Report Posted October 26, 2005 Well, apart from these improvements to the model, I had my first phone call on the new unit, and there is a mjor problem - the sound from the earpiece speaker is very quiet and distorted, to the point of not being usable. So another new one coming tomorrow morning.
