install xml, whats wrong?

im a complete n00b at this, i didnt realise how complex it could be changing from a cough, nokia, cough over to a c500, the manual is useless and tells you nothing about how to actually do anything with your phone. iv just started customising, d/l a theme.zip file, extracted it and copied the contents to the storage\application data\home\ now i have a big list of files in there (no jpgs btw) and i dont know what to do now, nothing shows up under home screen.

Did you download a zip file or was it a cab file. Your computer might try and treat them the same. If you got a _setup.xml and a bunch of numbered files (*.001, *,002, etc.) then you unpacked a cab file. Go back and transfer the cab file to your phone and launch it using the file explorer on your phone to install.

Did you download a zip file or was it a cab file.  Your computer might try and treat them the same.  If you got a _setup.xml and a bunch of numbered files (*.001, *,002, etc.) then you unpacked a cab file.  Go back and transfer the cab file to your phone and launch it using the file explorer on your phone to install.

it was a cab file, thanks, but when i put it on my phone now and try and install it, it says something about not having adequate permission?

I copied the cab file but it does not show up in the directory on my phone when I browse on the phone.
