Guest pfcRT2 Posted October 26, 2005 Report Posted October 26, 2005 ive been trying to figure out how to sync my smt5600 with my computer via bluetooth. i got a bluetooth dongle. i am suing drivers that came with it and a service pack 2. when i can create a COM port on my computer. then when i go to sctive sync and change the COM port to port 6 (thats the one that i created), it doesnt recognize it as a syncronization port. then when on my phone i go to bluetooth/COM ports and try to create a new port, it only allows me to create an incoming port (eather 6 or 7). the button "new outgoing port" is there but i cant click on it. PLZ HELP! i used the bluetooth sync guide that i found on this forum but i still cant figure out how to do it. IM OUT OF IDEAS!!

Guest pfcRT2 Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 got the guide and its the same one that i used...still cant get it to work. i think its cause im using smt5600 nad its a lil different than c500. when u go to com ports on c500 it says incoming and outgoing ports and there are two check boxes for them...it doesnt say that on mine so i dont kno how to do it. it only says create new incoming port....PLZ help..have anybody tried to sync ur smt5600 with ur computer????
Guest Samsonite Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 this is a common battle. Bluetooth and Microsoft are a nightmare together... All you can do is take mammoth steps like re-installing Activesync, hard resetting your device and things like that. I am not saying that this is your only route - you have to try all of the step by step guides and see if they work for you. There are a couple here in the site somewhere - a search will turn them up. Unfortunately, you may find it becomes a lost cause - like me and i dont doubt many others - but if you do get it working, DONT MESS WITH IT!! =D> ;)/ i managed to get BT sync working and then accidently had the dongle pulled from the hub and it has never worked since - and i tried, believe me!! good luck and sorry i cant help with a magic answer...
