Guest Socrates Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 (edited) I have a formerly ATT account with cingular. the plan is still a leftover ATT plan and the data plan is mMode UNLIMITED for my Smartphone. I just noticed yesterday that Cingular is actually charging .001 cents per kb on the unlimited plan. I called them up and they credited it without really sounding too surprised that it had happened. They also kind of round about indicated that it would probably keep happening. I assume that means I'm going to have to call once a month from now on to get a credit for my 5 or 10 bucks. If I was the suspicious type, I'd guess they were either trying to push me off the account hoping I'll go with a more expensive Cingular plan, or that they just figure a lot of people might not notice $5 a month (which I didn't for three months). I just wanted to post this here to give a heads up to other US cingular/ATT people that might be getting the same mistaken charges on their bill. Edited October 27, 2005 by Socrates
Guest greyfaction Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 My first bill was over $750 american, an i joined right on the merger in January. i travel a lot and they have me on roam even at home - long story short. . . i have to call each month and deal with them. i called thier support but after several tries to straighten things, was told to go into the store for a new sim card. the people there were unable or unwilling to unlock my phone to install the new sim chip. (they actually tried to send me home to unlock it myself, leaving the store with an unworking phone.) the other option they offered me was to buy a new phone @ $500 american - even though i only had the phone for 4 months. my advice: 1) never buy anything at wirefly.com because they are slow (to the tune of 2 months delay - after paying and they rarely honor thier rebates) and incompetant. 2) just wait until your service agreement is up and switch from att to cingular and trade the phone for the latest and greatest. or tell them all to go and kiss your arse and switch providers. . . as i may do. ;)
