Need help with GPRS/Internet setup!

hi all! please help me to sort out the setup of the GPRS on my c500.

i'm not from england, but does anyone has some kind of easy "How to" guid.

i'm really getting lost in all those tuning. ;)

You can check the Settings Repository (see the forum index) for the correct entries for your country & operator. You would enter them in Settings, Data Connections.

The first thing to check is that you have GPRS enabled on your account - phone your operator's customer services to check. It can be tricky to connect the phone to the internet for the first time. It took me a lot of attempts the first time I tried to connect with the Orange UK system !

Great, thank you for the advice...i found the guide. but still wasnt able to make ia ll work. i'll try to contact my provider and ask for maybe some specific tuning.

do you know any other guide?

Try this setup and hopefully it will work for you ;) First test the mobile internet connection and if that fails then test the GPRS WAP connection.

* Delete all existing Dialup, GPRS and Proxy connections *

Mobile Internet

Settings-Data Connections

Menu-Edit Connections

GPRS connections

Menu-Add

Description: GPRS Internet

Connects to: The Internet

Access point: www.umc.ua

User name:

Password:

Primary DNS:

Secondary DNS:

IP address:

In Settings - Data connections

Internet Connection: GPRS Internet

In Internet Explorer, Menu-Options-Connections

Untick 'Auto detect settings'

Set 'Select network: 'The Internet'

WAP over GPRS

Settings-Data Connections

Menu-Edit Connections

GPRS connections

Menu-Add

Create GPRS connection.

Description: GPRS WAP

Connects to: The Internet

Access point: (WAP APN)

User name: (username)

Password: (password)

Primary DNS:

Secondary DNS:

IP address:

Done

Done

Create proxy connection

Description: WAP Proxy

Connects from: The Internet

Connects to: WAP network

Proxy (name:port): 192.168.010.010:8080

Type: HTTP

Username:

Password:

In Settings - Data connections

WAP connection: GPRS WAP

In Internet Explorer, Menu-Options-Connections

Untick 'Auto detect settings'

Set 'Select network: WAP network'

MMS over GPRS

GPRS connection:

Description: GPRS MMS

Connects to: Secure WAP network

Access point: mms.umc.ua

Username:

Password:

Primary DNS: 0.0.0.0

Secondary DNS: 0.0.0.0

I.P address:

In Data connections make 'Secure WAP Network: GPRS MMS'

Start-Messaging-Media Messages

Menu-Options-Account Setup-Media Messages

Menu- Edit connections - Menu- Add

Menu>Edit connections

Menu-Add

Description: GPRS MMS

MMSC Address: http://mmsc:8002/

Data Connection: Secure WAP Network

Gateway: WAP 2.0 Gateway

I.P Address:

192.168.010.010

Port: 8080

Done

Done

Server: GPRS MMS

Download Messsages: automatically

Outgoing message size: less than 100kb

Allowed message types: personal

the internet is working perfectly!!!!!!

but wap gprs and mms is not working.

i found a post about new QTek ROM installing, hope it will help!
