C550 + TTM5 + PARROT CK3300

Now in theory this should work for most 3rd party BT GPS devices (don't know for sure) but it works with the parrot CK3300. I have been stuck with this for a while but finally (2 months later) got it working.

OK before I start, A huge thanks to Emonty for his help with this one.

First of all you need to do the usual stuff as described in the forum guides.

1) App Unlock the phone

2) Change the resolution to 138 X 138

Now here is the new (to me atleast) bit

3) Remove ALL bluetooth pairings

5) Create an incoming connection on port 6

4) Boot up TTM, go to settings, go to select GPS and select other. This will give you the "pair your device" message screen.

5) Press the hang up key (on the phone, not the car kit!) (don't close the program, just minimize)

6) Pair your Parrot up (If you get the option DON'T choose "use this device as a handsfree")

7) Rename the device from "Parrot CK3300" to "BT GPS"

8) Go back into TTM

9) Now leave the phone for about 30 seconds. The GPS should work.

-----If it is not working, on the car kit go into --------

settings>advanced>paired devices>SPV_C550>disconnect

then

settings>advanced>paired devices>SPV_C550>connect

it should now work (after about 5 seconds)

How to fit it on to 128mb card

Ok If you copy every file to the blank 128mb card except the voices directory it will fit easily. Then just add the languages you need

NOTE TO PARROT USERS

REMEMBER TO DRIVE LEGAL!!!

When you have configured your phone in this manner it will no longer sync with the phone (in carkit mode) when you start the ignition. However it can be used if you simply do the following on the car kit before you drive away

settings>advanced>paired devices>SPV_C550>connect

....Just had a thought. If at a later date you select the parrot (BT GPS) as your headset on the phone as i previously said not to it may trigger the auto sync with ignition again.

However you will do the following just before you start TTM everytime.

settings>advanced>paired devices>SPV_C550>disconnect

NOTE TO USERS OF "REPLACEMENT" GPS UNITS

I have been told that this will only work if you have the "legal" MAC file(s) for TTM installed in /my documents/tom tom on the device. So unlucky if you got it of ebay / downloaded it. Waste of money/bandwidth there.
