Guest jonhitch Posted October 31, 2005 Report Posted October 31, 2005 I'm very interested in which is the best too! Also cost has to be a factor!
Guest bretto Posted October 31, 2005 Report Posted October 31, 2005 I just invested in Navman SmartST and a bluetooth globalsat BT-338 GPS. I use them with a jam and an xda 2. I cant tell you about wm2005 as yet. I love it so far. The only thing I noticed was you need to make sure your BT is activated before starting the software or things bog right down for some time until it gives up trying. Also with V3.5 you need to get the update from the net which uses less memory and speeds things up significantly. I posted this a while ago
Guest soup dragon Posted December 16, 2005 Report Posted December 16, 2005 I don't know why it doesn't get more exposure here, but I use Mapopolis. They do free software for PPC and SmartPhone and then you just buy the maps you want. Works great with BT GPS, not had any problems at all. They also do demo maps will last for 10 days giving you full fuction. Cheap too. you can buy the maps for the whole of W Europe for about £70. www.mapopolis.com
Guest Peppermint Hippo Posted December 16, 2005 Report Posted December 16, 2005 (edited) Using Tom Tom Navigator 5 (latest version 5.21) on my VPA Compact. Coupled with my Holux GPSlim BT GPS receiver, it works a dream. No complaints at all Edited December 16, 2005 by Peppermint Hippo
Guest minty1978 Posted December 17, 2005 Report Posted December 17, 2005 i use tomtom 5.2 on the vario, no complaints, reasonably quick, finds the bt gps within 5 seconds of booting. route 66 navigate 2004 does not support wm5...yet. i also recommend this product for use with the vario and tt5: http://www.inter-activeinformation.com/uk/...8c5a5c685ca523d
