Guest Fleabag Posted November 1, 2005 Report Posted November 1, 2005 (edited) Exclusive news for Modaco. ;) Just got word that the T-Mobile MDA Vario [yes that is the official name for the device] was released earlier tonight. It's in stock and available on upgrades [not on new connections yet, but it won't take long]. The RRP of the phone is £189.99 so the majority of people will have to fork up a few quid for it even on the higher upgrade entitlements. Despite what people have said previously about this HTC variant, T-Mobile are stating that the device is 3G compatible. I got to use one of these the other day and I'd certainly recommend it over the MDA Pro anytime. It's a Pro in your pocket. :D Slightly bulkier than the MDA Compact, but I can live with that for 3G, WiFi, a keyboard and WM5. :D Specs listed below... Software: Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 OS Applications include pocket versions of IE, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Media Player 10 and Outlook. QWERTY keyboard with touch screen Web N' Walk compatible Java compatible. Stereo/MIDI/MP3/WMA/AAC/AAC+ for playback or ringtones. Bluetooth [version unspecified]. SMS, MMS. AVI/H.263/MPEG4/WMV video. Microsoft Active Sync. Hardware: 65k colour TFT LCD display (2.8 inch 240x320 pixels). 3G/WiFi/GPRS supporting Video telephony and 3G future propositions. Integrated 1.3 megapixel camera (2 x zoom). GPRS, multi slot class 10. 128 MB ROM & 64MB SD RAM External MMC/SDIO. Interface via Bluetooth, IrDa, MMC/SDIO, Infrared or Serial. Stats: Talktime of 3 hours. Standby time of up to 200 hours. Weight of 150g. Dimensions of 108hx80wx18.2d. Package includes device, USB cable, charger, battery, 2 stylus', leather carry pouch, 2 application CD's, user manual. I was thinking of getting one, but I'll hold out for the MDAC2 in a colour other than magenta. Edited November 1, 2005 by Fleabag
