Guest djfuego Posted November 1, 2005 Report Posted November 1, 2005 (edited) Ok I have resolved this issue by myself. I found that I was able to copy stuff to and from the phone but couldn't sync with Outlook. For Active Sync to work correctly with a USB connection you must ensure you haven't blocked it with your firewall and that the following services are running (started) DCOM Server Process Launcher Removable Storage Smart Card Create a shortcut with the following link "%SystemRoot%\system32\services.msc /s" Should work with XP Pro and Win2000 You will not be able to run this program with Win XP Home, or if you don't have admin rights. Your rights may not allow you to change services if you are at a work pc. As I'm a die hard tweaker I killed DCOM because I wasn't syncing with outlook; but now I need to, I couldn't figure out why I was unable to sync until I remembered that DCOM was used to communicate with my smartphone. Ok so you should all now be able to sync happily with Outlook Edited November 1, 2005 by djfuego
