Guest Emad Posted November 2, 2005 Report Posted November 2, 2005 Does anyone have any reception in the SW1 region? I'm right next to Hyde Park Corner and have been getting crap all signal - called Orange and said everything was fine. Bah.

I'm right next to Hyde Park Corner and have been getting crap all signal - called Orange and said everything was fine. Bah. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm currently sat next to the Ops guy covering that area and it appears there is no problems (we've checked teh surrounding cells). If you let me know the road we can check some more. I've looked at the North East corner as that is what I understand is Hyde Park Corner. If the problem was earlier, there was an issue and a covering site was reset at 9.45. This may have been the problem but the issue is now closed.
Guest Emad Posted November 2, 2005 Report Posted November 2, 2005 Thanks Rich, I'm at 1 Grovesnor Place and the other people in my office are getting 0..1 reception too - can't make any calls. Normally we get full/nearly full bars. Weird.

The failed to assign a site reference to it and gave it a pathetic rating so it wasn't picked up, and the fault has steadily got worse. The site is just north of you and there is a guy there now, it was locked down but is now talking to the network and will open to calls soon. Shouldn't be too long and you'll be back on air. Thanks for the tip, we'll tackle the appropriate idiots and let them know that cell blocking in London is more important than a 3 month SLA!!!!!!
Guest Emad Posted November 2, 2005 Report Posted November 2, 2005 3 month SLA? Thanks Rich, the reception has just come back on (full bars). You're a star. Where would be the best place to subit a formal complaint? It's been out at least 5 hours, during which we couldn't recieve or make calls from our mobiles. This was very vexing indeed.

This was very vexing indeed. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> We've spoken to the guy in question and will ensure a note is sent out about severity and how to raise issues. Normally the systems works very well but we have escalated as although mistakes can happen, this was a very simple error which could be avoided. The incorrect raising of the ticket also meant the person you spoke to could not see any issues in the area and not add you to a list of affected customers. Normally this would happen and bump up the severity of the problem or flash an update to staff so they can answer complaints. After checking the history and speaking to the guy on site, the problem was highlighted by the network itself (self monitoring) at 8.55. They were working on it by 10 but it took 4 hours to fix as it affected a chain of sites. Thanks for raising it though as we would not have realised the mistake by the clerk unless we'd looked into it as now the fault is fixed the open tickets on the site relating to this coverage problem will be closed. Cheers, enjoy all of the answer phone messages that'll suddenly pop up :?: . By the way, I don't work on the network but know the guys who do. It's nt my fault guv'nor , honest. 8)
Guest Emad Posted November 2, 2005 Report Posted November 2, 2005 I know, thanks for the help, really much appreciated (as functionality is the main issue, not blame apportioning (that comes later :D). Was a bit surprised when I asked what on earth was wrong on the phone and was told to call back after 4 hours if it still wasn't working (!). Ordered a phone from another provider now as am a bit annoyed (well, plus I wanted a Wizard ;)). Thanks for your help again, you're a * :D

Guest Emad Posted November 2, 2005 Report Posted November 2, 2005 Vodafone.. I needed the stop the clock as I make a *lot* of evening calls (Qtek 9100).
Guest Pondrew Posted November 2, 2005 Report Posted November 2, 2005 Ah, for a minute I thought I'd met the first MDA Vario owner ;)
Guest Posted November 2, 2005 Report Posted November 2, 2005 Vodafone.. I needed the stop the clock as I make a *lot* of evening calls (Qtek 9100). <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Did you order the 9100 direct from Vodafone or was it from a reseller? My company's account is with Vodafone and I'm hoping to get the 9100 out of them!
Guest Emad Posted November 2, 2005 Report Posted November 2, 2005 Reseller (phones2udirect). I very much doubt Voda will do pure brand Qtec's - the closest I've seen is the VPA compact (magician).
