What applications work/available for SP5

Hi everyone

Now that more and more peeps are getting the Imate or Qtec (SP5), thought i would start a topic on what works and what doesnt ans where to get the best apps for our new toys.

What works

Co - Pilot (although start up only fills 75% of screen)

Beta player works mighty fine

Smartphone notes 2

Agile messenger (only 75% screen)

Repligo works fine full screen

london tube works fine full screen

Mobile translator - (75% of the screen)

Regedit works full screen

Ptab works

smart video works well

papyrus replacement calender works

Games

tots and Togs full screen great little sims type game

smartphone SOS works full screen

Smart darts 75% of screen

Eclipse works well

midtown madness (75% of the screen)

chix game (75% of screen)

What doesnt work

Clearview - not supported on this device

when i have finished loading my apps and games will get back with further updates. What wm5 apps are actually out there??

Has anyone tried any ppc apps?? apparently some work on the SP5, anyone know which ones.

Hmm... i've seen another topic about WM5/QVGA soft.... well, let a mod point that out.

Running on my WM5/QVGA SP5m:

- TomTom 5 with the TTqvga tool (an acceptable workaround for now)

- eTrust Antivirus (comes in the i-mate software package)

- Fizz Traveller. It's the standard version blown up by Fizz to fit the QVGA screen. I guess in time a real QVGA version will come.

- Ilium Listpro

- Métro

- Ilium Newsbreak

- BT Remote Control (small screen) (Link is down, but new version is developed)

- SplashID

- Efficasoft GPRS Monitor

- SmartphoneNotes 2.0

Pocket Minigolf 2 apparently does QVGA, that was C550, dunno about WM5.

Does it fill your screen? On mine I have a black border around the video and the picture quality looks very poor. The same movie plays crystal clear and sharp on my XDAIIs.

Do I need to re-encode the file to a specific size?

Do I need to re-encode the file to a specific size?

I have set the video to GAPI, and that all but fills the screen, i experimented a bit to get a good resolution and size.

goto menu - video - video driver - then select the driver (just realised as i was posting these instructions i have set driver to GDI.

I find that a 240x320 wmv file that I created using Photo Story 2, when I play back on the phone and switch to full screen, flashes from photo transition to photo transition and the audio is stuttery...

And this is a proper wmv file encoded for said purpose...

Mmmm - I hope it was just a one off - would hate to learn that due to the new screen size and resolution, the phone processor is simply just not powerful enough to play them now...

Time will tell...

Thanks Mr Hughes, setting it to GDI lets my videos fill the screen fully now ;)

I'll copy over a high quality movie to my miniSD and see what the playback is like.
